<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nThis past year, we tried to incorporate a theme with our new fleet of electric golf cars. So \u2026 we borrowed the cover of the first Cars album \u2026 and at the top said \u201cNew Electric Golf Cars\u201d. The bottom of the page said \u201cLet the Good Times Roll\u201d \u2026 a title of one of their songs that seemed apropos for our culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Did everybody love this \u201cgenius\u201d marketing? No. In fact, I received tons of complaints about the \u201cscary girl\u201d in the ad \u2026 which always accompanied my blogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, you don\u2019t have to put up with the scary girl any longer \u2026 we have a new ad campaign. Though it\u2019s supposed start in 2021 \u2026 I thought you deserved an early Christmas present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s a departure from Classic Rock \u2026 however, it refers to a few \u201cclassic\u201d coffee commercials. Hopefully, you\u2019ll especially enjoy Juan Valdez and his donkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since we\u2019re going down memory lane \u2026 we did a couple of movie themes: \u201cNo Place Like Home\u201d (The Wizard of Oz) and \u201c2017: A Golf Odyssey\u201d (2001: A Space Odyssey).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Classic Rock themes have dominated. I already mentioned \u201cFairway to Heaven\u201d \u2026 we did another Led Zeppelin theme with Jimmy Page playing a mandolin in front his Scottish castle \u201cThe Real Magic Kingdom\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking of castles \u2026 one year we just had our mascot Harvey sitting in front of an Irish castle with \u201cDeer Run Golf Club\u201d \u2026 that summer, multiple people asked where the castle was \u2026 seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seriously \u2026 these ad campaigns are not serious. Probably the most ridiculous one was \u201cFun at The Run\u201d featuring a cruise ship. However, a big cruise company out of Miami didn\u2019t think it was so funny \u2026 their lawyers sent us a \u201ccease and desist\u201d letter. That was serious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe the most serious, was a golfer at sunset with the title \u201cBreak on Through\u201d \u2026 in reference to the old Doors song. We all want to \u201cbreak on through\u201d \u2026 and golf is a great way to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
